About us
VSG Home Care is a registered NDIS provider in Craigieburn. We help people with personal care, housework, nursing at home, and getting out into the community — every day across Melbourne's northern suburbs, and across the rest of Greater Melbourne by arrangement.
We are a team working out of Craigieburn, and most of us live in the same northern suburbs we drive to every day. What that means in practice is simple. You meet us before anything is agreed, you get it in writing before a dollar comes out of your plan, and you get the same few workers rather than whoever happens to be free that week. If one of them is not the right fit, you tell us and we change them. No reason needed.
Our approach
We listen first, and we keep listening. What we hear from you and your family is what shapes the support we put in place, and we go back over it as things change, because needs rarely sit still. The choice and the control stay with you throughout. Our job is to support the life you want, not the one that happens to suit our roster.
- We listen to participants and their families, and we act on what we hear.
- We work in the same northern-suburbs communities we live in.
- We help with the everyday things, so independence is something you practise rather than wait for.
- We send trained, reliable support workers, and the same ones wherever we can.
- Our vision
- To provide quality care to our clients.
- Our mission
- To meet each client's needs as they define them.
- To provide services that meet quality standards.
- To improve our services based on feedback from clients and other stakeholders.
Who you will be working with
Support workers
These are the people you will see most, and the ones it matters most to get right. They come to your home, work to your routine, and stay long enough to learn how you like things done — and to notice on the days you are not quite yourself.
- Daily personal activities
- Help with personal care, hygiene, dressing and getting ready for the day.
- Household tasks
- Help with cleaning, cooking, laundry and keeping the house running.
- Community access
- Going with you to appointments, social events, shopping and the things you enjoy.
- Skill building
- Working alongside you on the skills that make independent living easier.
- Supported Independent Living (SIL)
- Help or supervision in your own home, often around the clock. SIL is the funding that makes a home of your own realistic when support needs are high.
Support coordinators
A plan on paper does not look after anyone. A VSG support coordinator goes through your plan with you and works out what the funding will actually stretch to, finds people who will genuinely look after you, and stays on it until the support is working — then keeps checking that it still is.
- Assessing your plan
- Going through your NDIS plan with you line by line, so you know what each budget is for and what it will realistically cover.
- Plan implementation
- Putting your plan into action once you know what is in it.
- Connecting providers
- Finding suitable support workers and therapists, and setting up the agreements with them.
- Sorting out problems
- Dealing with roadblocks and service delivery issues when they come up.
- Building your confidence
- Helping you get to the point of managing your own plan, if that is your goal.
- Levels we coordinate at
- Level 1 (Support Connection) and Level 2 (Coordination of Supports), both under our Assist-Life Stage, Transition registration.
Registered nurses
Our clinical care is led by a Registered Nurse holding a Bachelor of Nursing and seven to ten years of clinical hospital experience. Nothing complex begins until they have trained the workers on it and satisfied themselves it is safe. That is not a formality — it is the reason high-intensity support can happen at home at all.
- Nursing at home
- Wound care, medication, continence support and health checks, delivered in your own home.
- Training and sign-off
- Teaching workers your care and confirming they can deliver it safely before they do.
Speaking your language
Our team is bilingual. We speak English and Arabic, so we can talk with participants and their families in the language they are most comfortable in, and support people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Real support starts with a real connection. Speaking your language means we understand what matters to you, respect your traditions, and make sure you feel heard.
How we work
We care about the person
The task on the roster is the smallest part of this job. Our workers stay long enough to know your routine, to notice the days that are harder than usual, and to say something when they do. That is what we hire for, and it is the thing we will not compromise on.
We are properly registered
We are a registered NDIS provider. That means the NDIS Commission has checked us and approved us. Our registration runs until August 2029. However your plan is managed, you can use us.
We are local
Our office is in Craigieburn, not in another city. Our workers live in the same suburbs you do. That is why we turn up on time, and why we can usually get someone to you when plans change.
The same faces each week
You get a small team who get to know you, not whoever happens to be free. You should not have to explain yourself again every visit.
A nurse behind the team
Our registered nurses train our workers, check they can do each task safely, and keep checking as your needs change. You are never left with someone who has not been shown properly.
You are in charge
You choose who helps you, when they come, and what they do. If you would prefer a man or a woman, or someone who speaks your language, just say so. And if a worker is not right for you, you can ask for someone else. You do not need a reason.
We give you straight answers
You will get the cost and what is included in writing before we start. If something you need is not covered by your plan, we will tell you now — not let you find out later.
More about us
VSG Home Care is a registered NDIS provider based in Craigieburn, Victoria. We support people across Melbourne's northern suburbs. We are registered for twelve kinds of support — personal care, complex health care, nursing at home, housework, getting out into the community, life skills, help with work, and getting around.
Our NDIS registration is approved, and like every registered provider we are audited regularly. There is also a condition that part of our audit happens three months after we start each type of support that needs a certification audit.
Yes. Every worker holds an NDIS Worker Screening Check. They complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module before they start, and we check they can do each part of their job. Workers who help with complex health needs are also trained and signed off by a registered nurse.
Yes. We are registered for high intensity personal care. That covers things like PEG feeding, bowel care, tracheostomy and ventilator support, catheter care, help with swallowing, and seizure support. Our workers are trained for it and a registered nurse supervises them.
The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and weekends are by arrangement. Care itself is not limited to office hours — we do evenings, overnight support and 24/7 care, depending on what your plan pays for. If you ring outside office hours and we are with a participant, leave a message and we will call you back.
Our office is at Unit 11, Craigieburn, VIC 3064. But you do not need to come to us. We come to your home and out into the community with you.
