Personal Care & Daily Activities

Personal care means help with the everyday things you do to look after yourself. Showering. Getting dressed. Brushing your hair. Remembering your medication. Our support workers come to your home anywhere in Melbourne's northern suburbs. You choose how much help you want, and how you would like it done. Nothing happens without your say-so.

What's included

  • Help with showering, bathing and keeping clean
  • Help getting dressed, shaving, and with hair and teeth
  • Help with the toilet and continence, always done privately
  • A steady hand moving around your home, or getting in and out of bed
  • Reminders and help with your medication
  • Morning and evening visits, at the times that suit you

Who it's for

People who want a little help each day to stay in their own home — and who would rather see the same friendly faces than a different worker every week.

Questions about personal care

No. We work around your day, not ours. Most people like a morning visit and an evening visit. But we can come at midday, in the afternoon, or overnight. Tell us what suits you and we will build the roster around it.

Yes, of course. Many people prefer one or the other, especially for showering and dressing. Tell us when we first meet. We also match on language and background where we can. If your regular worker cannot come, we will let you know before the day.

That is your choice to make. The NDIS Commission asks us to do a short written safety check with you first, so we have all thought about what happens if something goes wrong. We do it together, and we do it before support starts.
